Frederick Stibbert was an English businessman of 1800; he moved to Florence towards the end of the century because her mother was from Tuscany and he was in love with the city. He was an eclectic art and antiques collector and he put in his Florentine villa all works of art, old furniture and above all old weapons and armours he collected throughout his life. At the end of his life Stibbert donated his villa and park to the city of Florence, they became a museum and a public park.
The Stibbert Park is one of the most facinating and magic parks in Florence, for his naturalistic, romantic and esoteric aspects.
