Baroque Ivories Exhibition at Pitti Palace in Florence
At the Museum of Silver at Pitti Palace in Florence, there's an exhibition of ivory objects and works of art collected in the years by the Medici dinasty and other European Courts of the Baroque period.
In particular Ferdinand I de’ Medici was a true passionate of ivory and his collection reached hundreds of pieces. For the fist time in Florence an exhibition entirely dedicated to ivory objects, its title is "Diaphanous passions. Baroque Ivories from the European courts", to underline the fact that this Medici passion influenced many contemporary Courts all over Europe.
