Saint John and the Fireworks from Piazzale Michelangelo

FIREWORKS ON JUNE 24TH

On June 24th in Florence many events take place: the Calcio Storico, the Parade in Renaissance costumes, the flag flyers, the canoe race along the Arno River and the Fireworks dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, patron Saint of Florence. The main one is of course the fireworks or "fochi" in florentine, fired at 10 pm  from the outlook on Florence, the Piazzale Michelangelo. The best spot to see them is on Ponte Santa Trinita (Santa Trinita Bridge) form wiich you have the sight of the fireworks with the Ponte Vecchio as a background. Just marvellous!!

The river Arno is just 10-15 minutes from our Hotel Loggiato dei Serviti.
