XIX EDITION OF CRAFTS AND PALACE
Like previous editions, CRAFTS AND PALACE will host, in the beautiful Giardino Corsini in Florence, over one hundred of the most extraordinary and capable craftsmen in Florence, Italian and European who will be involved in presenting the highest expression of quality and technique in their art. The exhibition will stimulate a moment of insight into the "applied arts", with the intent to bring them closer and closer to our daily lives.
The Show CRAFTS AND PALACE was born mainly from the idea to reassess and reframe today the figure of the artisan and his work so tied to the client, but insisting on the idea of a craft by its nature "modern", without forgetting the fundamental element of tradition. It is also desired to emphasize the great social importance of the craftsman of the past, whose shop often thrived around the Palace, intended as a "showcase" and a place of experimentation in continuous exchange with the client of any property, benefiting from a direct relationship with the general population and the social tradition as the holder of aesthetics. The Show starts from the idea that handmade article creation never ends and every job is not equal to another: from the Latin "manu facere" do with your hands so that exhibitors of CRAFTS AND PALAZZO are called loudly to show live the various processing techniques in which they excel.
The Palazzo Corsini , commissioned to Bernardo Buontalenti at the end of '500, hosts one of the most interesting Italian Gardens of Florence, designed and built by Gherardo Silvani, with a broad central avenue adorned with statues of degrading measures to accentuate the ' perspective effect, flower beds, hedges, basis for potted lemon trees and its large and bright Limonaie that arise close to the wall that borders the garden on Via della Scala.
