The Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino will kick off the new season on 6 September with a full calendar of events. Symphonies and operas take the spotlight this month, with concerts and shows directed and interpreted by important names in the world of classical music and opera. Three operas are scheduled, as well as three symphonies, and a special event for “Notte dei Ricercatori” in collaboration with the University of Florence.
The symphony season starts on 6 September with the maestro Fabio Luisi directing the violinist Sergej Krylov with music by Niccolò Paganini. Meanwhile, on 28 and 29 September, the maestro Federico Maria Sardelli conducts the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino orchestra with music by Mozart. On 27 September, a special concert will be held in honor of “Notte dei Ricercatori”.
The opera season begins on 13 September with Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo and the world premiere of Noi, due, quattro... by Elisa Fuksas. Pagliacci will have new staging directed by Luigi di Gangi and Ugo Giacomazzi, with maestro Valerio Galli conducting the orchestra and choir. Noi, due, quattro... follows with direction and libretto by Elisa Fuksas and music by Riccardo Panfili. Additional performances will take place on 20, 22, and 25 September.
Saturday, 14 September brings the return of Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi. This great classic will be directed by Francesco Micheli with maestro Sebastiano Rolli directing the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino orchestra and choir. Additional performances on 21 and 24 September.
