The Hotel Loggiato dei Serviti is a prestigious historic hotel located in the authentic and ancient centre of Florence and housed in one of the city’s historic building. Situated in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, one of the most visited place of Florence for being a Brunelleschi’s masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, the Hotel benefits of a strategic position due to its proximity to the most famous museums and monuments of the city.
Built between 1517 and 1527 by 'arch. Antonio da Sangallo the Elder by the will of the 'religious order of the "Servants of Mary" later also called "Servites", it was inspired by the lines of the famous Spedale dei Serviti, designed by Filippo Brunelleschi a century earlier and it is facing it. The interiors were designed to accommodate prelates passing through Florence, and as a place for meetings.
The palace remained of the religious order for about three centuries, until the second half of the nineteenth century when, following the dissolution of ecclesiastical properties, it was sold and converted into a hotel in 1924. The hotel was restored many times over the years, always preserving its old world charme, so you can still today admire the beauty of its sixteenth and eighteenth century authentic interiors.
